March Newsletter 2014
As a welcome and an introduction to our first newsletter, I thought we would write a few words about our business and how we started. We found that across the UK there were only castor suppliers who limited their customers to ridiculous minimum orders, incredibly high prices or other unfair restrictions to a fair sale. So we decided to develop a business which removed these restrictions and now supply through our own website, eBay and amazon as well as over the telephone. Our model works well for the individual consumer just wanting a new set of castors or chair feet and for the larger manufacturing company who needs thousands of items to be supplied in an efficient and simple process with great customer service. No matter the size of your order or the type of customer you are, you will not be disappointed by our products, service team or pricing. This newsletter is packed with great information on some of our new products, and we will be sending these out regularly to existing customers and posting it on our social media sites. New Product Launch!
Owing to popular demand and continuing our search to find products that customers need and want, we have introduced a range of connector bolts and caps. These connector bolts are designed to join two pieces of wood together leaving a pleasing finish. They are ideally suited to joining furniture together but have many applications. They can be supplied with the corresponding Connector Caps to have the same finish on both sides or can simply be screwed through the timber into one of our threaded insert nuts. Typical applications include cabinets, chairs, desks, shop equipment and tables but have also be used to fix wooden panels to walls, a more secure way of fixing artwork frames to walls and many more. Our Growth
Over the last few years owing to our wide range of products, simple ordering and delivering system and no quibble, no minimum order and other great customer service initiatives we have seen a brilliant growth. In the main we put this down to our “customer centricity” and hope to see continued growth over coming years as customers start to realise that whilst there are cheaper lesser quality products in the market, unless you get great service with them and are treated well as a customer it pointless paying cheap for a product that won’t last and you won’t get any help from the supplier if it goes wrong.
During 2013 only our second full year of trading, we grew significantly and recorded 1625 orders through our own Website; 447 orders through our Amazon store, and a whopping 2524 orders through our eBay channel…A total of 4596 customer orders who gave us a 99.9% positive feedback. We know our products are great, pricing competitive and we are selling through all the right channels but this growth in the main is down to how we treat our customers and we challenge our customer service staff to continually deliver best in class service and so buying from us guarantees you a great experience and superb quality products.
What our apprentices are saying:
Castors Unlimited have invested in local training initiatives and have recruited two apprentices in sales administration and marketing. We started our apprenticeship scheme back in July when we had our first apprentice join as, Natalie. In November, we then recruited Luke. We wanted to know their thoughts and opinion on being an apprentice and their views on our company. Here’s what they have to say:
“Having only arrived at the business three months ago I feel I have already learnt a lot. Every day at the company so far has been different, being provided with completely unique tasks to complete on a regular basis leading me to always have something to do without work becoming repetitive. I am enjoying my apprenticeship a great amount as I am treated well and I really do feel as though I am already making a difference to the company and its progress. Customer Spotlight
A customer case study we were recently sent, an enquiry from Mr Jackson and it was brilliant to receive a before and after photo. After various emails being sent, we managed to help Mr Jackson restore his late dad´s old 1960s office chair.
